I’m interested in finding a handful of freelance writers and editors whom I can regularly work with to more quickly complete a variety of projects, both for my own content sites and for clients.
I am interested in hearing from only freelance writers/editors who are comfortable working in the following publishing programs: InDesign (you must own the program), Dreamweaver (you must own the program or use a similar professional HMTL program), Wordpress (you’d login to my sites, but need to know your way around Wordpress), and/or Joomla (you’d login to my sites, but need to know your way around Joomla).
Here are some examples of the types of work that I’d like to contract out to other professionals:
-I’m converting Writing911.com to the Joomla content management system. In the conversion process, old code was transferred to the new pages and many of the articles are now not fit for viewing. I need someone familiar with Joomla to clean up the formatting of the articles and do a quick proofread so I can re-publish the site.
-I need an editor to re-package several articles, blog posts, and tip sheets I’ve already written into new e-books. This would involve reorganizing the material in InDesign, some minor organizational changes, writing new headlines, proofreading, etc.
-I need articles that I have already written repurposed and sufficiently changed to appear as new content to search engines. For example, I may have a blog post on one site that I want to repurpose for one of my other websites or e-newsletters.
-I need original articles written for Writing911.com (grammar, writing style) and NewsletterWritingTips.com (all facets of newsletter writing). I am interested only in original work and this would be a work-made-for-hire arrangement where I’d own the copyright.
-I need help proofreading, correcting, and updating text on client websites in Dreamweaver or a similar program.
Experience working with nonprofits is ideal, but not required.
Payment would vary from project to project. For original writing assignments, I prefer to pay by the word. For editing/design projects, I prefer to pay by the project or by the hour, depending on how well-defined the project is.
This will be an independent contracting relationship. I will issue a 1099 when the annual payment exceeds the IRS limit.
If you are interested in working with me, please send me an email with “Working with EcoScribe” in the subject line to kivi *AT* ecoscribe.com. Please describe your experience with projects like those above or with using these specific programs. Please provide links to your website/blog and work samples. Also give me a sense for your rates — by the word, hourly, etc. I will reply to all serious inquiries, so if you don’t hear back from me within a few days, please feel free to email me again. No phone calls, please.
Thanks!
Kivi Leroux Miller
